Church Crookham nursery children embrace flower petal experiment
Date: 15 Aug 2019
Children at Bright Horizons Church Crookham Day Nursery and Preschool have been experimenting with flower petals recently.
The children used pre-cut flowers they decorated using pens, which they folded and placed into a tray of water. The children watched and saw the flower petals slowly open on their own to reveal their beautiful patterns.
“The children noticed that once the flowers have opened, the ink starts to mix together and slowly disappears, leaving a plain flower,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Shanice Hall.
This activity was continued throughout the day and the children independently added their own ideas, colouring half the petal, using pencils and crayons to see if this changed the outcome.
