Bright Horizons Colleagues Commemorated at the Nursery World Awards 2023

Colleagues at Bright Horizons attended the Nursery World Awards at The Brewery in London on September 30th where they were shortlisted for four awards.

Two of the finalists, Danielle, a Regional Director was nominated for ‘Area Manager of the Year Award’ and Michele, Director of Operations at Bright Horizons was nominated for the ‘Professional Book of the Year Award’, both received ‘Highly Commended’ in their categories.

The remaining finalists were Bright Horizons for the ‘Health and Wellbeing Award’ and Nursery Practitioner Katy, from Bright Horizons Kingswood Day Nursery and Preschool in Hull, was nominated for ‘Nursery Practitioner of the Year Award’.

Danielle, Regional Director for the North West at Bright Horizons said: “It was such a wonderful evening to be spending with my Bright Horizons family who have all worked so hard in their roles. I feel proud of myself to be one of five finalists for Area Manager of the Year Award, having worked at Bright Horizons for 15 years, has really set my career off working in a sector I love and I’m passionate about. The Nursery World Award ceremony is such a great way to recognise hard work and be around other people who care deeply about everything there is to do with the Early Years.”

Michele, Director of Operations for the North at Bright Horizons said: “Having my book I co-wrote with Avril, ‘The Passionate Practitioner's Handbook’, being recognised as ‘Highly Commended’ is a great achievement and it feels really rewarding to be one of the finalists for an award. What inspired me to write this book with Avril, was due to the fact I’ve always wanted to see nursery practitioners who work towards supporting children to continuously reflect and question themselves. It was great to be surrounded by passionate practitioners at the ceremony and it has made me more motivated to inspire and offer expertise to those working in Early Years.”

The Nursery World Awards are an annual event where they have 26 different categories and receive nominations from nurseries across the UK. These prestigious awards are open to everyone involved in childcare and education and highlight the inspirational work that goes on. The winners are chosen by a distinguished panel of expert judges that is representative of the organisations that make up the sector.
