Bright Horizons director is a finalist for prestigious award

Janine Leightley, HR Director at Bright Horizons, is named on the shortlist for the Personnel Today Awards 2023.

Janine, from Ashford, Kent, is one of only four candidates to be in the running for the title of HR Director of the Year. In addition, Bright Horizons is also a finalist in the Reward, Recognition and Benefits Award category. Now in its 25th year, the Personnel Today Awards celebrate the very best achievements and innovations in HR and L&D. A record number of entries were received this year, and much deliberation was made by the expert judging panel to narrow down the final list.

Janine commented: At the heart of our business is our people. From apprentices to qualified practitioners and industry experts, our business relies on our people to deliver family solutions at every touchpoint. We are constantly evolving as we listen to our colleagues and develop programmes that support both their home and work lives, helping to create an environment where everyone can flourish. I am proud to lead such an amazing team.

Janine joined Bright Horizons in 2021. She has a well-established background in operations and HR management and a successful record of leadership, focussing on determining and delivering organisational change. An advocate of strong core principles and shared values, her expertise centres on building the relationships between corporate culture, the employee experience and performance.

Ros Marshall, Managing Director UK at Bright Horizons, said: “Janine's strategic vision and exceptional leadership have been instrumental in attracting and retaining the best talent. With her energy and commitment, insightful decision-making and innovative ideas, Janine has had a significant influence on our success and growth as we emerged from the pandemic.”
