Lord Mayor Joins Tingley Nursery’s Fundraise Event

Bright Horizons Tingley Day Nursery and Preschool recently hosted a successful open day fundraiser event, partnering with Project Kaison where they raised just under £100 so far for families in need.

The nursery's commitment to making a positive impact in the community was evident as they organised a raffle and bake sale and welcomed new families to tour their exceptional facilities.

Project Kaison, a charity dedicated to assisting struggling individuals and families in Leeds, Wakefield, and the surrounding areas, focuses on providing essential baby items to those who are unable to afford them.

The partnership between Bright Horizons Tingley Day Nursery and Preschool and Project Kaison aims to alleviate the financial burden faced by these families and ensuring that every child has access to necessities.

Donna Varley, the founder of Project Kaison and winner of the prestigious Yorkshire Pride of Britain award in 2021, expressed her gratitude for the nursery's support.

Varley stated: "We are incredibly grateful to Tingley Nursery for their generous contribution. Their dedication to our cause will make a significant difference in the lives of families who are currently struggling."

Attending the open day fundraiser was Lord Mayor Councillor Al Garthwaite, accompanied by her Consort Honorary Alderwoman Angela Gabriel. The Lord Mayor and her Consort actively supported the fundraising efforts, further emphasising the importance of Project Kaison.

Councillor Garthwaite shared:

"It was a great fundraising event, and I am so pleased I got to see the nursery’s facilities and meet the passionate practitioners at the setting. It is heartwarming to witness the commitment of Bright Horizons Tingley Day Nursery and Preschool and Project Kaison in supporting families in our local area. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it the most."
