Children at Bright Horizons Chelmsford Day Nursery and Preschool recently enjoyed a walk around Beaulieu and spent time looking at the different coloured flowers and collecting sticks.

This lead to a conversation about the Stick Man storybook and when the children were back at nursery, they used sticks and string to make their own version of Stick Man, whilst reading the book and using the pictures for inspiration.

“This was a great way to develop their skills in Expressive Arts and Design and also in Physical Development using fine motor skills to manipulate the twigs and string,” said Nursery Manager Tom Diaper. “The children were very excited to take their stick men home.”
