Chelmsford nursery children grow herbs and vegetables
Date: 28 Jun 2019
Children at Bright Horizons Chelmsford Day Nursery and Preschool recently planted their own herbs and vegetables, in an exercise part of the organisation’s Green Gardeners enhancement.
The children have been working hard to grow the herbs and vegetables in the nursery garden, watering them on a regular basis. Bright Horizons’ Green Gardeners enhancement aims to provide children with opportunities to interact with the natural world around them.
“This week Toddler Room dug up the soil to see what we had grown,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Claire Jackson. “Our carrots did very well and the children enjoyed exploring all of the vegetables they had managed to grow and were very pleased with themselves.”
