Children at Bright Horizons New Eltham Day Nursery in London recently took part in a science experiment involving eggs, food colouring and vinegar.

The children mixed together the vinegar and food colouring before placing the eggs into the mixture. They then left the eggs for two days to see what would happen.

“Although the reception area did not smell too pleasant, the children seemed excited to check on the eggs throughout the two days,” said Nursery Manager Michelle Gregory. “When the two days were up, the children re-observed the eggs and the texture was different. The eggs were able to be squeezed and felt squashy instead of hard.”
