Greenwich nursery receives Good rating from Ofsted

Bright Horizons Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool in London has been rated ‘Good’ after its most recent Ofsted inspection.

The nursery received its inspection on January 31st and was rated as ‘Good’ in three areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment and outcomes for children. It also received ‘Outstanding’ for Personal development, behaviour and welfare.

Inspection activities included the inspector observing a range of activities both indoors and outdoors and assessing the impact this has on children’s learning. Comments from the report included:

  • Staff plan a wide variety of interesting experiences that extend children’s learning well and provide lots of opportunities for children to explore and discover independently.
  • Parents speak highly of the nursery and value the strong partnerships with managers and staff. They say that the staff teach their children well and provide and exemplary care.
  • Children make good progress from their starting points. This includes children who speak English as an additional language and those receiving funding. Older children show a secure understanding of mathematics. For example, they count accurately and confidently name shapes, such as crescent and semi-circle.  
“We are delighted to read so many positive comments in our most recent Ofsted report,” said Nursery Manager Jay Emirhan-Kantar. “Our focus now is to continue to offer exceptional care and education to our families who we pride ourselves on working very closely with.”
