Leeds nursery children embrace new mud kitchen

Date: 29 Jan 2019

Children at Bright Horizons Asquith West Lea Park Day Nursery and Pre-School in Leeds have been embracing their new mud kitchen outdoors.

“We are all very excited to see our new outdoor area coming together,” said Nursery Manager Katy Watson. “The children have been developing their imagination using the new mud kitchen.”

Mud kitchens provide many benefits for young children including through personal and social development as a result of giggling after the mud moves. They can also improve communication and language as the children use words to play in and describe the mud. A mud kitchen can also aid physical development, as the children use their hands to make marks in the mud.
