Bright Horizons Hinchley Wood Day Nursery and Preschool in Esher, Surrey has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ after receiving its recent Ofsted inspection.
The nursery received its inspection on March 16th and was rated as ‘Outstanding’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare; Outcomes for children.
Inspection activities included the inspector observing staff interacting with children and viewing both the indoor and outdoor learning environments. Comments from the Ofsted report included:
- Staff are skilled in introducing children to letters and sounds, and for teaching them how to blend sounds together to work out simple words. Staff also use innovative ideas for encouraging children’s mathematical ability and interest in science experiments.
- Children’s personal, social and emotional needs are extremely well considered and planned for. Staff are skilled in helping children settle in and prepare for moving rooms and starting school. Children establish extremely strong emotional attachments to staff and develop close friendships with other children. Behaviour is exemplary.
- The nursery is exceptionally well led and managed. Procedures for recruiting, vetting and inducting new staff and managing staff performance are extremely thorough. Staff receive high levels of support from experienced room leaders.
