Children at Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis Early Learning and Childcare nursery in Edinburgh recently marked 100 years since the innovative Scottish doctor and suffragist passed away.
The anniversary and celebration was held on November 26th and saw the children draw their own image of Elsie Inglis, as well as speak about the work that she did. The children used charcoal materials to create their own portraits, in an exercise also part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Artists enhancement which encourages creativity in art.
“The children thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Elsie Inglis, discussing her life and speaking about her achievements to each other,” said Deputy Nursery Manager Kate Hubbert.
