Manchester children raise money for foundation with bake-off
Date: 12 Oct 2017
Children at Bright Horizons Manchester Day Nursery and Preschool recently organised their own bake-off in order to raise money for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
As part of Bright Horizons’ annual FUNdraising Campaign for the foundation, the children sold homemade treats donated by staff and families that attend the nursery.
“The children have also enjoyed baking, learning about the amount of ingredients needed to bake and using different tools,” said Nursery Manager Chloe Barwick.
Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis. They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.
The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
