Children at Bright Horizons Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery and Preschool have been embracing the summer spirit by turning their home corner into an ice cream parlour.
The children have been using their role play skills to pretend to serve ice cream to each other and they also spoke about their favourite flavours. They also have their own counter and were able to practice their counting skills as part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Mathematicians enhancement.
“The children were very excited to set up their own ice cream parlour,” said Nursery Manager Rebecca Bourne. “They also learned more about colours by sorting and matching in order to make pretend flavours of ice cream.”
