Leeds nursery children celebrate Eid

Date: 14 Jul 2017

Children at Bright Horizons Leeds Day Nursery and Preschool recently celebrated Eid to mark the end of Ramadan.

The children dressed up in traditional head scarves and read stories about families celebrating Eid. They also made their own chapattis which were cooked for the party, as health and safety mascot Candy Floss ensured everyone remained safe around the oven.

“The children love learning about different cultures, it is an important part of everyday learning at the nursery,” said Nursery Fiona Stewart. “We feel it’s really important to celebrate a variety of cultural festivals and holidays throughout the year in order to build on children’s natural curiosity about the wider world around them.”
