Children at Bright Horizons East India Dock Day Nursery in London recently took part a planting initiative as part of the organisation’s Green Gardeners enhancement.
The children had planted their own plants in pots inside the nursery but recently transported them outside to the nursery garden. They are growing tomatoes, runner beans, flowers and herbs.
“When the vegetables are ready, the children look forward to having them as part of their snack time,” said Nursery Manager Alexandra Keys.
Bright Horizons’ Green Gardeners enhancement aims to provide children with the opportunity to interact with the natural world around them.
