Children at Bright Horizons Teddies Esher Day Nursery and Preschool in Surrey recently enjoyed creating their very own lava lamps, as part of the organisation’s Growing Scientists enhancement.
The children watched on as they added food colouring to corn flour and saw it change colour. They observed how the lava lamps began to bubble as a result of their work and creation.
“The children were really excited to create their own lava lamps and were keen to choose their own colours for them,” said Nursery Manager Ashlea Sexton. “We were delighted with their application to the task and they were fascinated by the bubbles inside.”
Bright Horizons’ Growing Scientists enhancement aims to help children identify scientific activities that occur in everyday life.
