Children at Bright Horizons North Cheam Day Nursery and Preschool in Sutton have been studying the work of famous artist Jackson Pollock.

A large canvas was placed in the middle of the floor and the children used a variety of brushes and tools to drip paint. The task of creating a image was also part of the Bright Horizons Growing Artists enhancement.

“This is a great activity for younger children to explore paint splattering and drips,” said Nursery Manager Sarah Burge. “Painting in this style liberates children and gives them freedom to just enjoy the painting experience, working spontaneously and without worrying about creating realistic images.”

The Growing Artists Enhancement encourages children to be creative in art.
