Children at Bright Horizons Millhouses Day Nursery and Preschool in Sheffield recently took part in a gardening activity as they took advantage of the early spring weather.
The children were asked to plant seeds and bulbs in the nursery garden, in an initiative part of the organisation’s Green Gardeners enhancement. In the process, the children were taught about the life cycle of a plant.
“The children loved getting their hands dirty as they took part in the gardening activity,” said Nursery Manager Jo Whittingham. “They are excited about following the journey of the plants and seeing them grow.”
Bright Horizons’ Green Gardeners enhancement aims to provide children with opportunities to interact with the natural world around them.
