Oak Lane nursery manager gets beaned to raise money for charity
Date: 14 Dec 2016
Genna Vango, Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Oak Lane Day Nursery and Preschool in Twickenham, has overcome her fears to raise money for charity.
Genna had a huge box of cold baked beans poured over her after staff, children and parents were each asked to donate £1 per tin of beans. It was a tough challenge for Genna, who has a particular dislike for the smell of beans. Her initiative raised a total of £100.
“All the staff, children and parents donated £1 per tin of beans which were put in (either) the ‘bean me’ barrel or ‘don’t bean me’ barrel,” she said. “I had a few in the ‘don’t bean me’ barrel but being the good sport I am, I added them to the beans I got beaned with.”
