Children at Bright Horizons Horseshoe Day Nursery and Preschool in Surrey celebrated Remembrance Day by wearing their poppies and discussing the importance of remembering those who served in war.
The children discussed the bravery of the soldiers and furthered studied the poppy by looking at paintings by Monet. They compared and contrasted different pictures of the flower.
“Remembrance Day is a day that is important to all of us and the children were very keen to pay their respects,” said Nursery Manager Keely Fletcher. “They were all very proud to wear their poppies and spent time remembering the service of those who gave their lives.”
