Nursery managers to take part in London Bridges Walk for foundation
Date: 13 Oct 2016
Nursery managers across Division 21 of Bright Horizons Family Solutions will take part in the London Bridges Walk to raise money for the organisation’s foundation.
The managers have already raised £1,300 for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children as part of their efforts. The walk, to be completed by the end of October, covers 10 of London’s bridges including Tower Bridge and Westminster Bridge and the managers will be dressed as superheroes throughout.
Division 21 covers nurseries in London and the surrounding area. The eight nursery managers taking part are:
- Donna O’Malley (Teddies Loughton)
- Stacey Dowsett (Springfield Lodge Dartford)
- Jenny Gagg (Tabard Square)
- Claire Patmore (Woodlands)
- Sarah Mitchell (Spitalfields)
- Georgia Mourde (City Child)
- Malcolm Vickery (Chigwell)
- Sarah-Jane Smith (Phoenix)
“The foundation is obviously a charity very close to our hearts and we are very much looking forward to the walk across London’s bridges,” said Vickery, who will be dressed as Superman. “It gives us the opportunity to involve in some healthy physical activity as well, something we are always advocating in our nurseries.”
Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis. They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres. The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
