Children at Bright Horizons Tassel Road Day Nursery and Preschool in Bury St Edmunds have been conducting a survey on the staff’s cars, as part of the organisations Growing Mathematicians programme.

The children compared size, shape and colour of the cars as part of the survey. They also counted how many of each car type they could see and recorded their results in a graph.

“The children thoroughly enjoyed conducting the survey and showed a great appetite for comparing the properties of each car,” said Nursery Manager Rebecca Bourne. “At Bright Horizons, mathematics is always part of the forefront of our education programme. .”

Bright Horizons Growing Mathematicians programme aims to help the child understand the purpose and importance of mathematics in everyday life.
