Bright Horizons Northcote Road Day Nursery and Preschool recently held its annual summer fete, with all the money raised going towards the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
This year’s fete featured a bouncy castle, refreshment stalls and a raffle, while the children also had a visit from the fire engine and the opportunity to get their face painted.
“Our summer fete is always a fun day for everyone and we are glad the children got the opportunity to meet the fire crew and test the equipment,” said Paola Testoni, nursery manager. “The foundation has a very important function and we were delighted to support a cause so close to our heart.”
Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis. They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.
The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
