Creepy crawlies come to nursery
Date: 11 Jan 2016
Children from Teddies Basingstoke Nursery and Preschool on Chequers Road had some special visitors as animal company Zoo Lab brought a selection of minibeasts and other animals to the nursery.
The children had the opportunity to handle and observe a variety of different animals including a snake, a giant snail, a frog, a millipede and even a tarantula. They enjoyed learning about what all the animals eat, where they live and how they move.
One of the highlights was listening to a story about millipede which is characterised by having two pairs of jointed legs on most body segments.
“He’s tickling my hand”, observed one little girl.
Nursery Manager, Nikki Paine, said: “Fun was had by all, even though some members of staff didn’t feel as brave as the children. Zoo lab regularly visits our nursery, bringing with them different animals each time in order to create an engaging fun environments for children to learn and discover.”
