Mayor Officially Opens New Barnes Nursery

The nursery which successfully opened in October, held their official opening on Saturday 28th November with Cllr Martin Seymour doing the honours of cutting the ribbon.  The event was attended by local families and members of the wider community, and offered guests a great opportunity to explore the warm and friendly indoor environment and the fully resourced outdoor space.

Children enjoyed various creative art and music activities while parents explored the nursery setting. “We had a very enjoyable day showing parents around our nursery, explains the Nursery Manager Kerry Doyle. “Cllr Martin Seymour complimented us on our opening and wished us every success for the future. Our immediate plans are create the best possible environments in which the children can settle to their new surroundings and naturally love learning forever.” 


Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool offers five individual home-bases specifically tailored to different age groups, as well as a children’s kitchen where the children can explore Bright Horizons’ Cookery Club programme.  The setting also boasts a bespoke external play area, including a beach feature, observation hut, potting shed and hobbit house.
