Meet the Team

Emma Lewing

I have been Nursery Manager at Swanscombe since 2011. I have worked at Swanscombe Springfield Lodge since 2004 whilst studying for my BA Hons Childhood Studies. I have also completed my Early Years Professional Status in 2011 and I hold a NVQ level 4 in Management.
I am passionate about providing enabling environments for all children and I love spending time in the rooms getting involved in a variety of adventures and activities. The children are my inspiration and they lead us in our planning and development of the nursery.
I have a child of my own who is nearly two and likes to keep me on my toes. She attends the nursery and is thriving. Having my daughter has made me look at the nursery from a parent's perspective and how we can make things easier for parents and make them feel assured that their children are in safe hands.

Maria Linggood

I have been working at Springfield Lodge Swanscombe since 2015. I have over 20 years' experience in a wide range of childcare professions including 8 years of Out of Schools with school children aged 4-11 years and Youth Club for 11-14 year olds. I am level 4 qualified in Childcare and I am a level 3 Forest School Team Leader.
I work alongside Emma to deliver the highest quality care and education for children and families. I am passionate about Forest schools and the outdoor environment for all children. I have developed the programme for children at the nursery and we are lucky to have local woodlands to use as well as our large sensory garden.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
