You and your child will love Crofton Day Nursery and Preschool in Orpington. Spacious and welcoming, we support the learning and development of children from the age of 3 months to 5 years. Many of our staff are bilingual and we have staff trained in both Makaton and BSL.

Each of our four age-specific room has been lovingly crafted into the perfect learning environment; a homely space for children to investigate, discover and explore. Our stunning roof garden is available for children to access throughout the day and features an exciting climbing frame, mud kitchen, racetrack surface and built-in number squares.

Our nursery in Orpington offers a unique Ready for School programme that supports the key skills and creative development of our Preschool-aged children. Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians teaches early academic skills, while Growing Artists, Creative Cooks and more encourage creative thinking and life skills.

Crofton nursery is ideally situated between Orpington and Petts Wood train stations, providing regular services to London and Sevenoaks, and on the 208-bus route providing a regular service into Bromley and Petts Wood. Our all-inclusive fees include all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes; making your morning preparation easier. All food is freshly cooked, nutritious and meets any dietary requirements your child may have.

Sharen Lee Bickley Manager

Sharon Lee

Sharon has many years of experience working in childcare and teaching both in the UK and in Asia.

Sharon has worked as a nursery manager, governor of a Primary School and as an Operations Director.

Although originally from a Finance background, she became interested in early years education. She trained initially as a Montessori Directress and has a Level 7 Qualification in Strategic Management and Leadership.

Sharon is passionate about creating quality environments for children and supportive communities within nursery life for children, parents and staff.

have worked in childcare for over 20 years and have been here at Crofton for 4 years. 

I have a level 3 qualification in children’s care, learning and development, and also have a level 2 in both Mental Health Awareness and in Understanding Autism.

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
