A place to grow

You and your child will love our home-from-home Wimbledon nursery, purpose built in 2013 for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We have two qualified teachers among our experienced nursery team to provide your child with engaging growing enhancement activities, including sports lessons and IT classes in our ICT room.

Your child will also be encouraged to explore their senses from a young age with our baby sensory room and dedicated baby garden. As they develop, we then continue to support their curiosity with our stunning nursery garden, designed specifically for young children to have fun and learn through our outdoor classroom.

We practice a Growing Enhancement programme unique to Bright Horizons, further giving your child the inspiration and confidence to navigate subjects such as mathematics, art, reading and writing.

Our unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

Our Wimbledon day nursery in Wimbledon is conveniently located close to the town centre, South Wimbledon Station, Wimbledon Chase Station and the A3/M25.

We are rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, and local parents recognise the high quality of childcare we provide by giving us a daynurseries score of 9.4/10 (as of January 2020).

We would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

Wimbledon House Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Terry Bedford

I have worked in childcare for 14 years. Like many, I started my career as an unqualified nursery assistant and quickly progressed through my qualifications, reaching a management role within 5 years. In the 14 years, I have grown a love for many aspects of children’s education, one of which is children’s speech and language, as I have cared for many autistic children and others with special education needs. This experience has kept my mind strongly on the quality and learning for all the unique individuals I care for every year.

Hayleigh Mead

I have 9 years’ experience in childcare. I entered childcare as I have a passion for helping babies and children progress and develop. I love what I do and have amassed a wealth of knowledge along the way. Using my child centred approach to develop children, keeps me with a hands on attitude. I am a strong motivator, with a willingness to succeed and push the team to new limits that brings the outcomes for children to a new level.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
