Meet the Team

Sarah Read

In May 2014, I transferred from our Chelsea Nursery to Carshalton Nursery as nursery manager.

I have worked in the Early Years sector for over 10 years working in a variety of different settings and with a various age range of children however predominantly birth to 5 years. I have a strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and how best to support children in their development.

In 2009 I completed my Degree in Early Years Childcare and Education and continue to extend my knowledge through various training. I am the lead safeguarding officer within the nursery as well as being the SENCO of the nursery.

I am proud to work with such a passionate team at Carshalton Day Nursery within an enriched and happy environment where support each child to develop and grow as an individual.

Leanna Wilson

I have worked in the childcare sector for 11 years and am proud to be a mother of a beautiful three year old girl.

I have been at Carshalton since we opened in 2013. I started as a Room Leader within the Preschool Room before transitioning over to the Baby Unit and becoming Third in Charge. I then gained experience within the senior management team. My role as a Deputy Manager ensures that every day is different and it gives me new skills and knowledge all the time. I also hold the role as Special Educational Needs Coordinator and Child Protection lead. I am proud to be part of such an amazing team and it really does feel more like a family here, my daughter loves it just as much as I do!

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
