Meet the Team

Sarah Burge

I have been with North Cheam since 2007. I began as a nursery nurse before becoming a Room Leader leading to Deputy Manager in 2012. In 2013 I become Nursery Manager.

I am passionate about providing a fully enabled environment for all children to develop fully in a safe secure setting. I regularly spend time in the units enjoying time spent observing and interacting with the children as well as observing and mentoring the staff.

I support my highly motivated team to challenge themselves whilst providing the highest quality experiences for the children in their care.

I am extremely committed to ensuring that the company vision of Keeping Everyone Safe  is evident within our culture of Behavioural Safety here at North Cheam.

Francesca Baker

I have been working at North Cheam since 2015 as Deputy Manager (Maternity Cover). Previous to this I have been working in various early years settings for a number of years.

I have worked with children aged from birth to 5 years since being in the early years sector where I have enjoyed being a key carer while supporting families and my colleagues especially during my time in a children’s centre.

I work alongside Sarah to deliver the highest quality care and education for children and families.  I also regularly spend time within the nursery units both observing and mentoring staff in addition to spending valuable time with the children.

I am responsible for making sure that all of the children have equal opportunities and meet regularly with our SENCO to make sure that all of the children’s needs are met across the nursery.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
