Discover how we support and nurture your child’s confidence and growing independence as they get ready for primary school.
Whether they're chatty and confident or a little shy and unsure, time in our preschool will help your child to find their feet, make friends, and start discovering the world around them.
Through problem-solving games, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and team activities, each child is encouraged to try new things that build independence, creativity, and emotional awareness - all while getting them ready for school. Trailing a stick through the mud becomes writing their name. Making a paper chain becomes tying shoelaces. Nursery rhymes turn into early counting, and hugs with friends lay the foundation for meaningful connections.
And you can be confident our practitioners will cheer them on and keep encouraging them at each step, whether they zip up their own coat for the first time or just keep trying to learn, they’ll be supported to step through the doors of big school with confidence, ready and excited to learn.
At drop-off, we start the day with a friendly hello as your preschooler learns to find their designated coat peg or locker, encouraging independence and a sense of belonging – an important part of our preschool programme.
Breakfast together is a time to gather, chat, and enjoy a healthy start to the day. With a variety of nutritious options to choose from, children practice decision-making and turn taking, while developing healthy eating habits and social skills.
Our Bright Beginnings Curriculum gives your child opportunities to stretch and challenge their thinking skills, allowing them to compare, contrast, and develop problem-solving strategies.
To ensure they are ready for their next step into primary school, we also introduce them to age-appropriate maths, reading, writing, science and art, through our comprehensive Ready for School programme. To find out more about our Bright Beginnings Curriculum click here.
Time to get moving! The learning adventures continue in the great outdoors, where your child can hone their coordination (and their competitive edge) while racing their bestie on our tricycles or cultivate their green fingers in the vegetable patch. Mealtimes are highly enjoyed by all. Arranged in a family style, they are a daily chance to take turns, share, and enjoy a variety of delicious, nutritious foods in a relaxed, social setting.
Healthy mid-morning and afternoon snacks are always on hand to ensure your child has enough energy to enjoy their day. To find out more about our mealtimes, menus and food safety click here.
It’s never too early to learn how to take care of yourself. Whether that’s through a little quiet reflection, gentle stretching exercises or unwinding in a comforting sensory room, we help children to understand their emotions and feel confident to ask for some quiet time.
And, of course, for those who still need a little morning or afternoon snooze, we create a peaceful space to rest and recharge. Discover how we support your child’s emotional wellbeing through our Nurture Approach here.
It's time to reunite with your little one. Your child's Key Person (where possible) will be ready for collection, with daily updates available on the Family App to keep you informed. Your preschooler will be prepared for a cosy evening at home, filled with joyful experiences, a full tummy, and lots of snuggles with you!
Every part of our preschool environment is designed to support older children's development in a way that feels natural, engaging, and fun. We love using natural materials such as smooth pebbles, soft feathers and pinecones, because they look interesting, feel good to the touch, and of course, in a child's imagination, they can become anything!
From the furniture to how the space is arranged, everything is thoughtfully designed to help children grow and increase their sense of independence. Take our stacking stools, for example. They’re more than just seats - they help children build core strength, balance, and confidence. Plus, they’re easy to tuck away, giving little ones a sense of responsibility for their space.
Buttoning a coat, pouring water into a cup, or washing hands all build independence. Taking turns in a game, sharing a toy, or offering a hug to a friend develops social skills. Getting your child ready for school is about so much more than ABCs and 123s - it’s about building confidence and a love for learning. Our Ready for School Programme does just that, sparking curiosity and nurturing emotional resilience to lay the foundations to make their next step into primary school a happy one.
Led by our passionate practitioners, our programme is rooted in research and aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) - but we go further. Everyday moments become learning opportunities, ensuring they're ready to step into school feeling confident, capable and excited.
Our Ready for School brochure covers our unique Nurture Approach, Growing Programmes, and practical tips to ease the transition at home.
"The team spent a lot of time and care preparing my child for the practicalities of school, such as putting their own coat and bag away and being responsible for taking care of themselves (toilet, handwashing, dressing etc). This was invaluable in bridging the leap between having a dedicated care worker and being in a large class with one teacher. As a result, my child was confident and aware of what school would be like."
