Request a call backI have been with Bright Horizons for 15 years. During this time I have spent 2-3 years with each age group, I managed to gain the relevant qualification during this time period and was promoted to Nursery Manager. Over the past 6 years, my role has developed to oversee the nursery as a whole and seamlessly running its operations whilst overlooking every aspect of child development. I am the designated Safeguarding Officer for Balham Nursery and I hold both First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid certificates.
I have 24 years in childcare experience. I joined bright Horizons in 2011 as a room manager and worked my way up to a Deputy manager in 2014. I enjoy working in the rooms promoting quality and ensuring policy and procedures are being followed. I am passionate in providing outstanding and exceptional care and education to all our children and families. I am always eager to develop my knowledge and practices within the child care sector.
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
