A place to grow

Northcote Road Day Nursery and Preschool is located on Chatham Road, just off Northcote Road.

There are four child home bases each designed specifically for babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children. There is also a large, secure external play area and a small growing garden down in the basement in the Toddler Room.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Northcote Road’s highly qualified team helped the nursery secure an ‘Outstanding’ rating in the latest Ofsted inspection.

Meet the Team

Alternative Female Manager Silhouette

Natasha Sumile

I joined Bright Horizons in 2019 and started my journey with the organisation as a deputy manager then progressing into a manager role at Northcote Road.    I hold a NVQ level 3 in children's care, learning and development.

I love seeing how the children develop and progress through sensory play in the baby room to exploring the growing programmes and through our 'getting ready for school' programme in the pre-school. I love the relationships we build with our families and working in partnership to give each child the best start in life.

Carollee Bowley

I joined the Bright Horizons in 2016 and transferred over to Northcote Road nursery and became the Deputy Manager in September 2019.

I work alongside Leanne to deliver the highest quality care and education for children and families. I also regularly spend time within the nursery rooms both observing and mentoring staff in addition to spending valuable time with the children. I’m committed to providing a safe and fun environment for your child to learn and achieve their full potential. I believe that building strong partnerships with parents and families is vital in ensuring development and learning is extended at home. My passion is watching alongside the Preschool children and supporting them with their readiness for school.
I gained my BA Hons in Early Childhood studies back in 2015 and use this knowledge to build upon both my own professional development and supporting the staff team.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
