Meet the Team

Lizzie Abbott

I have been working with Bright Horizons since February 2010 and have been at Bright Horizons Watford Day Nursery and Preschool since October 2014. I was promoted to Nursery Manager in May 2017. I am very passionate about providing excellent care and education for the children in our care. Myself and the team create safe, secure and enabling environments to support the children to develop to their full potential. I aim to build secure partnerships with our families to ensure the children are given the best possible care. I have a son who keeps me very busy at the weekends.

Sarah Forde

Having worked in childcare for more than 35 years, I started working for Bright Horizons in October 2016 as Deputy Manager at the City Child nursery. I moved to Watford Day Nursery and Preschool in June 2017. I am Montessori trained and hold a level 3 qualification in Childcare and Development. I love the variety this job offers as no day is ever the same.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
