Meet the Team

Watford Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Amber O'Leary

I have been with Bright Horizons since September 2011, based at our Mount Vernon nursery. I was given the opportunity to grow within my role and become Deputy Manager in January 2015. Over the last 5 years I have grown in confidence learning new skills and gaining more knowledge by completing Bright Horizons training as well as local borough. This has given me the head-start to take on my new role as Watford nursery manager.

Not only is my role to be there to provide support for the team and children, but also by helping families through their child’s first years, balancing life and ensuring that we all work in partnership is the key to great success.

Having worked in childcare for more than 35 years, I started working for Bright Horizons in October 2016 as Deputy Manager at the City Child nursery. I moved to Watford Day Nursery and Preschool in June 2017. I am Montessori trained and hold a level 3 qualification in Childcare and Development. I love the variety this job offers as no day is ever the same.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
