A Bright Beginning for Every Child
Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.
Building on the foundations of the government’s EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child’s wellbeing, development, and progress – whether that’s moving rooms or preparing them for school.
The Curriculum is complemented by our Ready for School Programme, which supports the development of key academic and life skills so children can continue their learning journey with confidence.
Children also enjoy Boogie Mites music sessions where they can learn about the world through music and song.
You can stay updated with your child’s day through our Bright Horizons Family app.
Set in the Countryside
We’re set in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, and we always make the most of our rural surroundings to enhance your child’s time with us.
Your little one will love joining in with nursery picnics, discovering creepy crawlies during our woodland walks, planting fruit and vegetables, and even watching chicks hatching.
Our garden is divided into different areas so every age group has the best resources for their needs. Children enjoy freeflow access so they can have fun outside whenever they choose.

Request a call backI have been working in the Early Years Workforce for over ten years. I have had a variety roles and became successful in the role of Nursery Manger in 2016 which I have now enjoyed doing for nearly three years, within two different nurseries. I am excited to now be continuing with my journey by joining the Bright Horizons Family and I am looking forward to expanding my personal development and working with the children, families and staff at Muddy Puddles.
Craig is an experienced member of the management team, working in childcare for 22 years he brings plenty for skills and knowledge to the Muddy Puddles Team. He holds an NVQ level 3 in early year’s childcare and education.
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
