A warm and welcoming nursery in Reigate

Reigate Day Nursery and Preschool offers six age-appropriate rooms each designed for every stage of your little one’s development, from 3 months to 5 years. We have been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, showing our commitment to exceptional care and education.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Building on the foundations of the government’s EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child’s development and progress – whether that’s moving rooms or preparing them for school.

Our Under 2s

Babies are nurtured in our Tadpole and Frog rooms which include cots, a milk kitchen and opportunities for your little one to recharge and refuel. Indoors and in our baby garden, children are encouraged to safely practice their newly developing physical skills using a range of sturdy and soft furnishings.

Our 2 to 3s

Your little one will love exploring with more independence in our Dragonflies and Bumblebees Rising 3s room, where they can really begin to discover their personalities and passions. Our Growing Enhancements encourage your child’s early academic and creative skills, such as reading, writing, mathematics, cooking and more.

Our toddlers love the freeflow garden that is specially designed for safe and independent play. They can explore balancing on beams and bikes, listen to the music wall and enjoy creative role-play in the mud kitchen.

Your preschooler will love our Ladybirds and Butterflies rooms that help to develop their learning through play. Our Ready For School Programme encompasses Growing Enhancements and ensures your child is taught important life skills such as serving themselves at mealtimes, tying shoelaces and communicating effectively.  You can stay updated with your child’s daily progress via the Bright Horizons app.

Meet the Team

Louise Peak Reigate Nursery Manager

Louise Peek

Louise is the nursery manager. She has worked in childcare for 30 years, having gained her NNEB qualification in 1985. She started her career as a Nursery Nurse within a small nursery chain and soon realised that she enjoyed the managerial side of childcare, moving into a management role within the company in 1988. In 1990 Louise had the opportunity to join a small independent nursery as Manager and became part of the Teddies group of nurseries in 1997 which in turn joined the Bright Horizons network of nurseries in 2009.

During this time Louise has had two children who enjoyed the benefit of attending her nurseries. She also supported other nursery managers in a training role within the company to share and support good practice. After becoming part of Bright Horizons and having achieved an ‘outstanding’ accreditation from Ofsted at the Bright horizons in Crawley, Louise decided that the time was right to further her education and attended university alongside her role as Manager, gaining first a Foundation degree and then a full degree and Early Years Teacher Status. As she completed this the opportunity to move to Reigate became available and she joined the team as nursery manager.

Her passion lies in striving for excellence and she is committed to the safeguarding a welfare of the children, staff members and families at Reigate. Louise is also a Grandma and in her spare time enjoys visiting the theatre.

Debra Wickens Reigate Deputy Manager

Debra Wickens

Debra is the Deputy Manager at Reigate, and has been here since 2014. Debra has a wealth of experience with the under three’s, and is the nursery SENCO (Special educational needs coordinator) supporting all children and staff team within the setting. Debra spends time with the children in each age group getting to know the individual children and their needs and supporting their developmental needs.

As Deputy Manager her role supports the Manager in the day to day running of the nursery. She is a great support system for parents and all the staff within the nursery and will help them with their personal and professional development. Part of Debra’s role is Health and Safety Officer, which means Debra makes sure the nursery is safe for all children, parents, visitors and staff. She is a friendly and approachable member of staff who is available to answer any questions people may have throughout their time at Reigate.

When Debra is not at work she enjoys spending time with her partner at his family farm, socialising with her friends and having a relaxing evening in.

Lauren Van der Lugt Third in Charge Reigate

Lauren Van der Lugt

Lauren is our Third in Charge. She has achieved her BA Hons degree in Early Education and has many years’ experience supporting preschool children with their transition on to school.

Lauren thrives on providing an environment and activities which enable the children to grow and flourish. She has a little boy who is 2 years old, who loves being outdoors.

Being a member of the National Trust helps Lauren and her family have some wonderful adventures together exploring natural environments. In her spare time she also enjoys reading and during the past year found a new interest in baking.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
