Meet the Team

Natalie Downs

My name is Natalie and I am the manager at Caterham Burntwood Lane. I have worked at the nursery since 2014 as an unqualified nursery assistant and have progressed throughout my years here to become the manager. I left the nursery for a year to have my daughter and since returning from maternity leave, we have both loved every day at the nursery!

I have had to the opportunity to develop my knowledge and skills through various professional development opportunities such as completing my early years qualification, level 2 in understanding autism and most recently gaining my coaching certification. This has supported me in my leadership role and every day at Burntwood Lane I am able to develop these skills with my wonderful team!

I absolutely love being a part of such a passionate and hard working team and seeing this in practice and the smiles on our children's faces everyday is one of the most rewarding parts of my role!

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons
