Radha Wood

I have worked in childcare since 2007, having gained my NNEB qualification in 2001. I then went on to do a Dance and Related Arts degree which I completed in 2004, before working for a bank, progressing to counter manager during my time there. After working there for 3 years I decided I needed a change and began working in a small nursery in Bournemouth as a Nursery Nurse. My travels  took me to Essex where I continued working in nurseries and became a room leader before being promoted to Third in Charge. I've worked in various settings as a Deputy Manager and then as Nursery Manager for 2 years before joining Bright Horizons in November 2015.

My role at Bright Horizons is both enjoyable and exciting. Lucy and I have worked hard to improve the nursery and my passion and dedication lies in striving for excellence and we are committed to this at Coulsdon.

Lucy Hiller

I have been working in childcare since 2006, when I started as an apprentice and gained a Level 2 and Level 3 in Childcare and Education with City and Guilds. I have been with Bright Horizons since 2006 starting with Casterbridge where I worked at Bright Horizons Banstead. I then progressed in my job role from Nursery Assistant to Nursery Nurse when I gained my NVQ Level 3 then from there I was promoted to room manager then to junior deputy and from then to present Deputy Manager.

Since November 2015 I have worked alongside Radha supporting her in the day to day running of the nursery. My role is also the Senco Coordinator where I work closely with the staff team and parents to ensure that I am here to support them if needed at any time. I also have the role and responsibility of being the health and safety coordinator where it is my job to ensure the nursery environment is kept clean and safe and to report if we have any health and safety concerns and to also ensure everyone is kept safe.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer.
