Now Open!

Leatherhead Day Nursery and Preschool is now open! The purposefully converted setting offers six individual home-bases tailored to each age group as well as a large external play area where the children can play and explore while building a lifelong love of learning.

Children in the nursery are well prepared to transition to school with our Ready for School Programme which includes Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians. All our food will be freshly cooked by our on-site chef and is nutritionally balanced. The nursery is located in the town centre, just a five-minute walk from Leatherhead train station with excellent commuter links.

Meet the Team

Georgie Mordue

I joined Bright Horizons in 2016 and have previously managed early years settings since 2007. I am also a mother to a 14 month old. My vision is to create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for all children, a place where they can learn, develop and grow.

Lucy Hennell

I completed my NNEB in 1999 and have since gained 19 years’ experience working within many different early years settings. I recently completed my BA (Hons) in Early Years teaching and learning. I chose to study towards my BA to gain a further knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and to enable me to provide the children in my care the best start in their learning and development.

I have a genuine passion for the early years and believe that we are laying the important foundations upon which children base their learning and grow.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
