An inspiring setting to learn, grow, and have fun

Welcome to Leatherhead Day Nursery and Preschool, rated Good by Ofsted. Your little one will love our nursery, which is dedicated to the care and education of children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Dedicated Spaces for All Ages

Babies love spending time in our baby rooms, where we follow their own individual routines, giving you the peace of mind you need. They also have their own dedicated sleep room.

Our toddler and preschool rooms are carefully designed to encourage independence and help your little one prepare for their next steps. Preschoolers are taught by their own qualified preschool teacher using our specialised Ready for School programme.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's wellbeing, development, and progress - whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

Children also enjoy Boogie Mites music sessions where they can learn about the world through music and song.

You can stay updated with your child';s day through our Bright Horizons Family app.

Outdoor Fun and Adventures

Your little explorer will love spending time in our large, beautiful outdoor space, which has age-specific areas for each age group.

Preschoolers benefit from freeflow access to the garden, where they can spend time with their friends enjoying the water wall, lookout tower and all the exciting resources we have on offer. The baby garden has a shaded area and can be used in all weathers. There is also a lovely forest area to explore, allowing them to have fun with nature.

Meet the Team

Evie Aitchison Leatherhead

Eve Aitchison

I have been the Nursery Manager at Leatherhead Since August 21 and have worked for Bright Horizons for over 2 years and have worked in the Surbiton and Richmond and Wandsworth branch. I have over 10 years’ experience in childcare,

I have a passion for providing exciting environments that will ignite children’s passion for learning and having fun. I have my CACHE Level 3 in Childcare and education and am currently working towards my Level 3 SENCO qualification and always take an opportunity to further my knowledge and education to continue to provide the best quality care.

I have had experience as a Children Rep abroad in Austria and Cyprus running a children’s club providing a range of fun exciting activities. I then enjoyed two years as a Private Nanny and gaining my Maternity Nanny qualification after doing this I found I really missed working with a team and leading and sharing my passion with others. In 2016 I returned to nurseries working as room leader and from then on have worked my way up to management. I want to provide a home from home environment for children so they can thrive and learn in whilst staying safe. I always aim to provide an outstanding standard of quality and care and going above and beyond for our families and most importantly our children.

I have been working in childcare settings for 17 years and at Bright Horizons Leatherhead since April 2021 after taking some time out from a 12 year career in an NHS day nursery to have my 2 little boys. I started here as the Room Lead for Preschool, and in August 2021 become the deputy manager here working alongside Eve and the team.

I have previously worked my way up the career ladder, starting as a nursery assistant to nursery nurse then to room lead where I remained for 10 years of my 12 year NHS career.

I strive to enable all children and families to receive the best possible care and give firm foundations for life, through communication and partnership working. I also enjoy seeing individuals grow and develop, so I also support staff to complete their NVQ and training, being their mentor.

I am NVQ level 5 childcare qualified and also have a level 3 NVQ in management. I enjoy the hustle and bustle of nursery life, from meeting parents and families, and working both as a team or independently, where no two days are ever the same, and I find growth such an important thing for myself, to both enhance my own professional development and the nursery team too.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
