Meet the Team

Jo Gordon Crawley Manager

Jo Gordon

I have been working in Early Year’s Education since 1998 in a wide variety of settings including schools and have been managing nurseries since 2007. I have had the pleasure of managing Crawley Day Nursery and Pre School since 2017 and I can honestly say I absolutely love working here!

I hold a level 4 qualification in Childcare and Education.

I am passionate about children's learning and development and really enjoy watching the journey the children go on at our nursery when starting from the baby room and making their way through to the Pre School room. It's always such a proud moment seeing the children go off to school knowing that they are full prepared for the next stage of their life.

I have worked in the childcare industry since 2009 working both in a nursery setting and a nanny role at home. I hold a Level 4 in Childcare and Education.

I  joined the Bright Horizons team here at Crawley Day Nursery as a room leader in 2016 when the nursery opened and worked hard to be given the position of Third in Charge. Currently I hold the position of Deputy Manager (Maternity cover).

I really enjoy working within a nursery environment and watching the children grow and develop throughout their journey with us.

I have worked with children and young people since 2010 and have supported children with additional needs (and their families) in various roles. During this time I developed an interest in child development and qualified with Early Years Teacher Status in 2014.

I’m committed to providing a safe and fun environment for your child to learn and achieve their full potential.

I believe that building strong partnerships with parents and families is vital in ensuring development and learning is extended at home. I look forward to welcoming you and your child to our beautiful nursery!

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
