A place to grow

Bright Horizons Beckenham Nursery and Preschool is led by an established and highly trained team which provides consistently excellent childcare. Located in a beautifully converted cricket pavilion, the nursery offers access to a large outdoor space as well as an enclosed play area for children to enjoy.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

We have an onsite chef who prepares and cooks all food fresh within the nursery; she caters for all children's dietary needs and changes our menu to fit in with any additional celebrations such as World Book Day and Chinese New Year.

We have a car park which is located next to New Beckenham train station, managed by HSBC and a permit costs £50 a year. We are a short walk from the train station making it easy to drop your child off and make the train into central London.

Meet the Team

New Beckenham Amie Corbett

Amie Corbett

My name is Amie and I am the nursery manager here at New Beckenham. I joined Bright Horizons back in November 2019.

I have been working in nurseries since 2007 and started off as an unqualified nursery assistant and worked my way up to a nursery manager.

I also gained my degree in Early Years Education a long the way.

Working with children is my passion and supporting children and families is something I really enjoy.

I have been working with Bright Horizons since 2007.

I started working with Bright Horizons as a Bank Staff, I then worked my way up to a deputy manager.

I have two children of my own and I love working with children and watching them grow and develop different skills.

My passion for working with children started early. I always knew childcare was the direction I would take and would be my main emphasis as a career path. My first placement was in a school, from there I went onto complete a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years in 2002. I have had considerable experience in working with different sectors of childcare from family settings, children homes along with public and private nurseries and schools. By having the opportunity to have gained this experience I feel I now have extensive knowledge and skills in understanding child development. This has enabled me to practice an excellent level of childcare. Working with children is always an adventure, no day is the same! The beauty is that children become excited over elements we may no longer see exciting and new.

In 2018 I began a Level 5 Management course which I aim to complete by early 2020. I am enjoying learning and gaining more extensive knowledge and look forward to implementing my new skills.

As an individual I am a responsible and very committed to my work. I joined Bright Horizons to take on the opportunity as a Deputy Manager. I enjoy being challenged and feel this role is absolutely perfect for me.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
