Bright Horizons Beckenham Nursery and Preschool is led by an established and highly trained team which provides consistently excellent childcare. Located in a beautifully converted cricket pavilion, the nursery offers access to a large outdoor space as well as an enclosed play area for children to enjoy.
We offer extra curriculum activities, we have Tot Stars join us twice a week to do tennis and football with our preschool children and some of the older toddlers join in too. We have an onsite chef who prepares and cooks all food fresh within the nursery; she caters for all children's dietary needs and changes our menu to fit in with any additional celebrations such as World Book Day and Chinese New Year.
We have a car park which is located next to New Beckenham train station, managed by HSBC and a permit costs £50 a year. We are a short walk from the train station making it easy to drop your child off and make the train into central London.

I started my childcare career 9 years ago as a housekeeper at this very nursery, New Beckenham. The management at the time quickly noticed my passion and genuine connection with children. I was offered the opportunity to complete my childcare qualifications and my journey in Early Years education began.
I hold a Level 4 Certificate in Early Years Practice from The Open University which I completed in 2013 after my NVQ Level 2 in 2010 and Level 3 in 2012.
At each level of qualification I progressed into more senior roles in the nursery, starting as a Nursery Assistant, Deputy Manager and now becoming the Nursery Manager. I have enjoyed and embraced my career every step of the way.
To me, working with children brings so many rewards but most of all it gives me a chance to see children flourish in their development and become confident and independent learners. I enjoy helping children understand the world around them and I was always fascinated with their natural curiosity, sense of wonder and enthusiasm for play and learning.
As a Nursery Manager I am dedicated to supporting my team to be the best they can be. My goal is to create the right balance of outstanding care for the children and parents and to inspire staff to share Bright Horizons vision and HEART Principles for the best outcomes for children.
Please contact me at the nursery if you’d like to hear more about the work our team are doing to ensure every child gets the very best start in education.
My passion for working with children started early. I always knew childcare was the direction I would take and would be my main emphasis as a career path. My first placement was in a school, from there I went onto complete a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years in 2002. I have had considerable experience in working with different sectors of childcare from family settings, children homes along with public and private nurseries and schools. By having the opportunity to have gained this experience I feel I now have extensive knowledge and skills in understanding child development. This has enabled me to practice an excellent level of childcare. Working with children is always an adventure, no day is the same! The beauty is that children become excited over elements we may no longer see exciting and new.
In 2018 I began a Level 5 Management course which I aim to complete by early 2020. I am enjoying learning and gaining more extensive knowledge and look forward to implementing my new skills.
As an individual I am a responsible and very committed to my work. I joined Bright Horizons to take on the opportunity as a Deputy Manager. I enjoy being challenged and feel this role is absolutely perfect for me.
I have been at New Beckenham Day Nursery since September 2007. I feel I have really grown and developed since then but my passion and love for my job is still the same! I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare which I gained while I worked here. I keep my knowledge and skills up to date via the online training courses I complete with Bright Horizons. I work as a preschool Room Leader and recently become Third in Charge. This has given me an opportunity to grow even more and become a part of the management team. I enjoy this role as it is allowing me to support the nursery as a whole. I also work as SENCO supporting children with their additional needs and working towards them meeting their best capability. I work hard in having good relationships and getting to know the children, parents and staff as I am a key believer of good partnership. I am a committed individual who always takes my sense of responsibility seriously and puts the interest of the children and families first.
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
