A place to grow

Your child will feel right at home in our beautiful Bromley day nursery. Set in a grand converted home, our nursery provides quality care to children aged 3 months to 5 years.

No matter the age of your child, they will be supported from baby, with our dedicated baby suite, to toddler, with our well-resourced preschool room. Your child also has access to a fantastic outdoor space complete with a cycling track, gardening area, age appropriate equipment and covered areas so they have the freedom to have fun and make discoveries all year round.

Because we consider the children in our care to be family, we want to make your child’s transition to nursery as smooth as possible. You can take advantage of up to 8 weeks of settling in sessions after registration. This gives you and your child the extra time to get to know our highly qualified staff, and we can better understand your family’s needs.

Even after your child finishes their graduation with us, we want them to succeed well into their educational life. This is why we have long and well established relationships with local schools, where we provide your child’s school with a report on your child’s progress after they graduate with us, so they never miss a step during their transition.

Our nursery is conveniently located near Sundridge Park Station and a short distance from Bromley town centre.

We would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Jay Emirhan-Kantar

Hi, my name is Jay and I am the Nursery Manager here at Bromley Day Nursery and Preschool.

Following a wealth of experiences in childcare ranging from 3 months to 16 years, my current journey with Bright Horizons begun in 2016 when I joined the organisation to support and lead a 'brand new' site opening.

My valuable time with the business has supported me to grow and undertake a number of new challenges supporting a range of sites to excel and shine, whilst mentoring and coaching large staff teams.

I believe that the best part of being a manager is supporting and inspiring my staff team to their fullest potential ensuring we provide our children with the awe and wonder they deserve. My belief is that every child is unique and with the right support, stretch and challenge they will aspire to be young confident children with endless opportunities.

Ellie Foster

My journey started in 2016 when I joined the company as a Nursery Nurse based in the Pre-School room. I have a BA Honours Degree in Early Years Education. I have 8 years experience in a variety of settings. I love working with children and getting to know my families, nursery is one big family. I love knowing every child’s name and being able to share my silliness and humour with the children and the team. Over the last 4 years, I have progressed through from Nursery Nurse to become the Deputy Manager. I enjoy supporting our team to develop and make a difference in our children’s lives.

Bright Horizons Bromley Gemma Third in Charge

Gemma Simmons

Hi, my name is Gemma Simmons and I am the Third in Charge here at Bromley Day Nursery and Preschool.

I have worked within the childcare sector for 13 years.

I started as an apprentice when I was 17 and obtained my level 2 and level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.   I have gained a wealth of experience working with all ages ranging from 3 months to 5 years.   During my career I have been a Deputy Room Leader of Preschool and a Room Leader of Baby room. In 2019  I was nominated for a National Nursery Award, this is the biggest achievement for me yet which I am very proud of.

I have a lot of knowledge of the Statutory Framework and Early Years Curriculum.

I am SENCO and first aid trained.

My ethos and beliefs are that every child is unique, every opportunity needs to be child-centred. I believe in setting children boundaries and expectations, supporting them to understand what is expected of them by their peers, teachers and the environment, ensuring they are safe at all times.   I aim for every child to learn through the holistic approach, giving the best opportunities for each individual to dream, believe and achieve, providing the children with a rich, fun and stimulating environment. As well as empowering them to gain confidence in getting ready to transition to school

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
