A HOMELY AND ENRICHING NURSERY IN LEWISHAM

You and your child will love our home-from-home nursery in Lewisham. Our caring, experienced staff, inspiring environments and exciting activities support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Each room features age-appropriate resources to stimulate interest and learning. In the baby room, this ranges from sensory play to help them discover new sights, sounds and textures, and safe surroundings that encourage them to crawl, pull to stand and eventually walk. Toddlers love exploring the world through play and discovering new words and numbers through song, which is supported by the innovative and well established Boogie Mites programme.

Our preschoolers enjoy our unique Ready for School programme, helping lay the foundations for future academic and creative achievements. Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians, alongside Growing Artists and Creative Cooks include enriching activities designed to encourage your child’s natural curiosity to learn, and inspire their interest in food and art.

All of the children at Lewisham nursery love our large garden. Preschoolers enjoy free-flow access, giving them the choice of outdoor and indoor exploration. Plenty of trees provide shade in the summer, and we have a planting area for the children to grow their own seasonal vegetables and plants. There is even space for tricycles, an outdoor seating area and climbing frames.

Our nursery in Lewisham is conveniently located within a 15-minute walk from Lewisham Station, and is close to local bus routes. There is designated drop-off space outside the nursery, and our all-inclusive fees include all meals, snacks, nappies, wipes and formula. The delicious food is freshly cooked onsite every day by our French chef, who has been with us for twelve years and conducts art and language lessons with the children.

Our long-standing team would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit with us today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

Lewisham Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Sally Osborn

I hold a Level 3 CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education and worked with Bright Horizons Lewisham for 2 years as a Deputy Manager before progressing onto Nursery Manager.

I have over 9 years’ experience in early years childcare and in that time I have delivered high quality childcare to hundreds of families. As a manager, my aim now is to inspire my team to deliver the best outcomes for our children and their families.

“There is nothing more rewarding than supporting children to grow, achieve and reach their full potential. I take pride in providing an exceptional child care experience for families and enjoy seeing the positive difference it makes”.

I’m extremely proud of the nursery and our recent refurbishment means that it looks and feels the best it ever has. Standards are high here and we instil a culture of pride and dedication in our nursery team.

Richard Waite

I have been in the childcare sector for over thirty years. Still today, it remains the main goal to make a difference and enrich the lives of all the children I meet. To give children from many social and cultural backgrounds, huge opportunities to learn. I have many years of childcare experience and training, including my NNEB Diploma in Childcare and Education, and my Bachelor of Science Honour’s degree in Technology and Education.

Over the years I have supported, trained or mentored staff, colleagues and friends. My career started as deputy manager, with Teddies Nursery, now Bright Horizons, in August 2005. I worked in nurseries then joined head office in the IT Department, before joining the Early Years Team then the Commercial Marketing Team. Now I'm thrilled to be back in a nursery setting.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
