Bank Street Day Nursery and Preschool

A home from home environment to grow and flourish in Canary Wharf

Bright Horizons Bank Street Day Nursery and Preschool in Canary Wharf is loved by families for its convenient location and purpose-built facilities. We are perfectly located for parents who commute to Canary Wharf, just a short walk from the Jubilee and DLR stations and offer a convenient buggy park to make drop-off and pick-up easy.

Whilst we don't have a garden on our premises, we take our children on regular educational outings in the local area of Canary Wharf every day. The team try to get them out twice in a day, although sometimes it depends on the day, as the nursery may have children settling in or the weather is a safety hazard for example, slippery ground after a snowstorm. On these occasions, the staff will do some physical exercise in the room with the children like an obstacle course or yoga for example. The "awe and wonder walks" where they can explore their surroundings and learn about the world around them. We are always looking for new and exciting places to take our children on outings and welcome suggestions from our parents. These outings are a great way for children to get exercise, fresh air, and exposure to new experiences. They also help children to develop their social skills, problem-solving skills, and sense of curiosity.

In our baby room, now since re-opening we are focusing on building meaningful attachments and relationships. They can learn and explore through free play, but they also have lots of fun activities that are planned for them based on each child's interest and stage in development. For the younger babies, it is more maternal care as we can take babies from 3 months, we work alongside parents to ensure we are meeting their needs, also focusing on tummy time and physical development. Although, we have set mealtimes and outing times in the nursery, we try to follow each child's individual routine that their parents are following at home with them, majority of our babies sleep, eat and feed at different times during the day but we always ensure they child have stimulating activities planned for them, implementing messy play, textures and sensory. Your child will enjoy freshly prepared meals and when the time is right, our children are encouraged to serve themselves and use a knife and fork.

In addition, we offer Boogie mites an interactive music and movement session which is loved by children of all ages and provides exciting opportunities to learn about the world through music and song.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family for a personal tour and to answering any questions.
