Meet the Team

Jay Emirhan-Kantar

I joined Bright Horizons as a Nursery Manager in May 2016 helping support other nurseries within the business. I led the opening of Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool in January 2017 and have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my job from meeting new parents and children and recruiting high quality staff. I have 10 years’ experience working in the child care sector of which 9 years has been in a management capacity. I gained my BA Hons Education Degree with an Early Years Professional Status award in July 2008.

As a manager I lead by example and believe that everyone can aspire to their goal given the right support and guidance. Childcare is my true passion and I thrive on influencing and engaging staff to come along on my journey to make a difference for our children and families. Self-reflection and evaluation is one of my strengths and as a team we are committed to providing the children with exceptional childcare on a daily basis.

I hold a Level 3 childcare qualification and have a strong passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
