I have almost twenty years childcare experience and am delighted to now be leading and inspiring a team to deliver outstanding practice. This includes working for ten years as a Preschool Development Officer for Preschool Learning Alliance and Prospects on behalf of Southampton City Council. This role helped me with coaching and inspiring teams across the city to reach their full potential. I left this role after becoming a mum… twice! I have a five-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter, I joined the team at Bright Horizons formerly Yellow Dot Hedge End as Manager in May 2019 and am so proud to be leading such a positive, vibrant and nurturing bunch!
I am driven to provide a fun, safe and stimulating environment for all children who attend our setting and working closely with the team to ensure the children we care for have fun real life experiences and learn through high quality play experiences every day.
After twenty years of working in accountancy and payroll capacity, I was looking for a new direction in my career. I began volunteering in my daughter’s classrooms; I was very inspired, although I felt I would like to work with infant and preschool children. I worked for a few years in a variety of school roles whilst staying at university for a degree in Early Years, which I achieved along with Early Years Teacher status. Then in 2008, I opened my own Beach and Forest school that specialised in providing care for children 0 – 12 years old. I strongly believe in the value of outdoor learning for children. I joined Yellow Dot in 2014, first working in our Otterbourne nursery and then joining the Hedge End team in 2018. We are a highly qualified and motivated team who strive to create a nurturing, supportive and stimulating learning environment.
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
