A warm and welcoming enviroment in Southampton

Rated 'Good' by Ofsted, your child will feel safe and happy in any one of our age-appropriate rooms, from 3 months to 5 years.

Designed for Every Age

The baby room features a comfortable and quiet sleep room and a dedicated garden space for your little one to enjoy. We encourage each child's development through individual routines that are tailored to their needs.

When children are ready to join the Little Learners room for 18 months to 3 years, they will enjoy learning through play using age-appropriate equipment. Our little ones also love making nature discoveries in the Learning Centre Garden.

A Bright Beginning

Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's development and progress - whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

All-Inclusive and Convenient

Nutritionally-balanced meals are prepared by our onsite chef using fresh ingredients. Necessities such as snacks, wipes, nappies, creams and formula are also provided, so there's less for you to pack on those busy mornings.

Bright Horizons Southampton Day Nursery is conveniently situated close to Southampton Central train station and within close proximity to Mayflower Theatre, City Centre, and Shirley Road.

Meet the Team

Sarah Munday

During my time here I have worked as a nursery nurse, a room manager in preschool and now as deputy nursery manager.
I spend time within all the groups interacting with all the children meeting with parents and building trust, strong relationships are very important and are at the heart of all we do.
I support staff throughout the day in all kinds of situations and help them with any questions or queries they may have.
My role as Keeping Everyone Safe Officer allows me to do this to the best of my ability.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
