Welcome to Southampton Day Nursery and Preschool, Shirley and just around the corner from Springhill primary school. Our dedicated staff are committed to providing the best care and early education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

We offer bespoke settling in sessions before your start date with us. Working around your schedule and ours, ensure that you feel comfortable leaving your child and that they are happy within their room, ready for the next step of starting nursery.

Our nursery consists of a baby room, a toddler room, a nursery room, and a preschool room. Each room has been tailored to suit the needs and developmental stages of our different age groups, with lots of space for your child to explore. The rooms are light and airy, with access to our garden areas through the preschool and nursery rooms. We provide each child with their own space for sleep, and during warmer months, there’s even the option for outdoor sleeping.

The baby room offers two spacious rooms with natural light, providing a home away from home feeling. Everything is at their level and accessible for them to interact with.

In the toddler room, our active under 2s enjoy a variety of activities, including a toddler gym for climbing and sliding throughout the day. They have designated focus areas for specific learning and engaging ‘wow’ activities to encourage development.

The nursery room promotes independence for our 2-year-olds, with opportunities for activities like hand washing, toileting and setting up their crockery for meals. There’s plenty of space for movement and exploring, nurturing their curiosity.

In the preschool room, children are encouraged to express their individuality and learn about emotions in a safe environment. The staff work alongside the children, listening to their ideas, interests and processes fostering creativity and critical thinking.

Our lovely garden space offers children the chance to enjoy outdoor activities throughout the day, stimulating their minds and encouraging imaginative play. From an outdoor book corner to bikes and trikes, there's always something new to discover; and while your child is busy exploring and having fun, we can keep you updated via our Family app. Available for all Bright Horizons parents, this will keep you connected with your child's day-to-day experiences and up to date as they develop during their time with us.
