You and your child will love our beautiful Otterbourne Day Nursery and Preschool. Set in an expansive building, our experienced staff and exceptional facilities support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.
The nursery atmosphere is always lively, with children engaged in all manner of activities, from creative role-play and construction, to messy sensory play that builds cognition and motor skills. Staff lead singing sessions to improve children’s confidence with language, and we have regular themed weeks to reinforce learning in a particular area.
Otterbourne nursery enjoys brilliant outside facilities. Babies and toddlers have their own separate, cosy gardens for safe outdoor exploration. Older children share a large garden complete with an external classroom, climbing equipment, woodland walk area, mud kitchen and more.
Beyond the nursery, we regularly visit local woodlands and fields, and make use of our own bus to give the children experiences further afield, such as the library. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.
Our nursery in Otterbourne is located close to Chandler’s Ford, with excellent links to the M3. Buses run close by and there is ample space to drop off children if you are driving. All our nutritionally balanced food is freshly prepared onsite, and convenient all-inclusive fees mean your child is provided with their meals, snacks, nappies and wipes at nursery.
We would love to meet you and your little one, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Early years is the root of a child’s education and development and I feel privileged to be the manager of a wonderful setting with a dedicated team that inspire and encourage children every day. As a working mum with 3 of my own children, I know how important it is to have a place where your children can thrive, be safe and secure with a team that are nurturing and caring.
I joined Yellow Dot Otterbourne part time in 2016 while also childminding after teaching for almost 20 years in the UK and in South Africa. I have always had a passion for developing and inspiring others and helping them to learn and grow and have worked in different teaching roles as well as working as a Learning and Development Officer for a retail company.
In 2017, I became a Room Manager and Third in charge using Froebelian principles and The curiosity approach to enable the children in my care to learn and develop through real life experiences, open ended provocations and links to the community while creating awe and wonder.
In September 2018, I became Nursery Manager of Bright Horizons Otterbourne Day nursery and Preschool. As a manager, I am lucky to lead an enthusiastic team in a wonderful setting that provides a stimulating environment for the children, helping them to develop in all areas of the EYFS.
I have over 25 years of experience working in early years and have worked in many childcare roles giving me a greater understanding of children and their family’s needs.
Istudied and completed my NNEB and have a leadership and management qualification which supports us to develop an inspiring team. Being a parent myself whose child has been to this nursery, I understand the importance of creating a nurturing and safe environment where children feel confident to learn and grow.
I feel very passionate about the attachment of children and how the Key Person approach works well to support the children when they first start with us. I love to be outside and enjoy spending time outside with the children showing them the wonders of nature and seasonal change the garden brings.
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
