Southampton Nursling Day Nursery and Preschool

Southampton Nursling Day Nursery and Preschool is rated Good by Ofsted, following an inspection in 2022 and is based in the David Lloyd Leisure Club in Nursling, Southampton.

The nursery has light and spacious rooms which lead directly onto a beautiful garden area.

Working closely with parents, Southampton Nursling Day Nursery offers an exclusive settling in period ensuring that children are happy and confident prior to starting at the Nursery.

The Nursery consists of two baby rooms, two toddler rooms, a nursery and a preschool room.

Children take part in a variety of activities, appropriate for their age. For example, sensory play is a primary focus for babies as they learn about the world around them. As they grow into toddlers, role play becomes prominent, before they reach preschool age and focus shifts to more structured learning, getting the children ready for the move to school

Our Ready for School programme is implemented in the preschool room. We also have growing enhancements embedded in our daily routines from Creative Cooks to Growing Artists. We also incorporate Growing Writers and Growing Mathematicians, working with the Parents to develop the children's skills both at home and at Nursery through our Play and Learning at Home activities.

Being outdoors is also a common theme, allowing children to experience all weathers, as well as participate in our Growing Gardeners and Active Athletes programmes.

The garden is full of activities and resources to stimulate young minds, including a book corner and access to bikes and trikes.
