See your child flourish at our nurturing Heron Quays nursery

Your little one will love coming to our nursery in Heron Quays, where we provide high-quality care and education for children as young as 3 months to 5 years.

With a 'Good' Ofsted rating, our spacious nursery operates five rooms within the nursery, each one tailored to the children's age groups, enabling them to safely explore and follow their own interests.

Your baby will be fully supported moving from home to nursery as we follow their individual routines, making this a smooth and positive transition for all the family.

We always work with families to support children's individual learning outcomes through our weekly learning and playing from home programmes.

Additionally, our parents' space gives families a private and welcoming area to chat with us about your child's needs. There's a milk station and nursing area, so you can feel relaxed and have privacy while taking care of your little one.

Bright Beginnings

Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's development and progress - whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

Exploring Outside

For older children, when it comes to outdoor play, your child will be truly spoiled (but not soiled!) with our beautiful garden area and adventure garden, which includes age-appropriate toys and activities.

The children love going on outings in Canary Wharf to explore the local area, 'dig' the local construction work, and watch the boats as we walk along the pier.

Enjoy Delicious Food & Snacks

Happy tummies are important. That's why our balanced menu is freshly prepared by our own onsite chef and changed regularly to encourage children to try new food.

All-Inclusive Care

Our Heron Quays Day Nursery and Preschool also provides essentials such as nappies, nappy cream, wipes, formula, sun cream, and snacks.

Meet the Team

Lea Anne Dean Heron Quays Nursery Manager

Lea-Anne Dean

I have been working in childcare for 12 years, I hold a level 3 qualification and a level 3 in leadership and management. I started as a nursery practitioner working my way up to nursery manager in three different nurseries. My greatest achievement to date is having the opportunity to support the opening of a new nursery, supporting the curriculum, mission and vision. I strongly value the partnerships I have with families, ensuring we have a whole rounded approach to the individual child working together in collaboration to meet their needs.

I am very passionate and value each and everyone of the staff I work with, ensuring their well-being and professional development is supported in a safe, and happy environment.

I have always had a great passion for child development and supporting children learn in their own way and guiding them along the way with the aim of developing a love of learning. I have always seen myself as a creative and able to think out of the box especially when when planning experiences for children, allowing their imaginations to run wild and lead the way. I am now in the position where I can inspire my team to continue providing amazing experiences for the children in our care.

I am very excited and feel very privileged to work with bright horizons, supporting and working closely alongside each and every one of our families, watching the children flourish and creating a warm, safe and enriching environment full of nurture and care.

I have worked in childcare for over 20 years, and joined Bright Horizons in 2019. I have had the opportunity to gain more managerial experiences but still working in rooms sharing my knowledge and introducing new songs to the children. I have built good relations with the children and parents and this is reflected in the nursery. I have been a part of the team to help build the nursery and gain Good Ofsted rating and look forward to working alongside the new management team to drive the success of the nursery.

I have been working at Bright Horizons since 2017 supporting our Chelsea Nursery where I worked as a Preschool Room Leader, progressing to the Third in Charge. I soon transferred over to Bright Horizons Heron Quays where I supported the nursery for over a year as the Deputy Manager. I have just returned from maternity leave and have had baby boy. I am passionate about my job and love working with children. Watching them grow and develop is what makes me happy.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
